鈴田滋人

Suzuta Shigeto kimono

Suzuta Shigeto (b. 1954) specializes in Woodblock Print and Stencil Dye, a technique originated from Nabeshima chintz, which uses two types of molds, “woodblock” and “stencil” together. After graduating from art college, Suzuta once aspired to become a Japanese-style painter, but he entered the path of dyeing to “create modern Nabeshima chintz”, following in the footsteps of his father, Teruji, who devoted half his life to restoring the mysterious Nabeshima chintz.
